  JWs having Facebook Sex - Strongly warned to get off FB at CA yesterday

  so it appears that jws are letting their freaky side come out on fb for everyone to see.. there was talk on the ca yesterday strongly warning all true lovers of jehovah to delete their fb accounts.

  the talk was solely about fb.

  the speaker mentioned that jws are associating with people that would not associate with in real life, often using the excuse that the person is a relative.

  Wow! All I gotta say is, if you're a JW, might as well go home, sit in your bedroom, read the magazines, study your bible, don't answer the phone, don't text anyone on your phone, don't look at the computer, don't look at the internet, don't look at your neighbor (pervs), don't think about buying anything, don't think about going to the movies, don't have a Facebook account, don't have a myspace account, don't buy any electronics that will steal your time...

  Don't....don't....don't....

  Did I miss anything? Help me finish the list....

  i hope they can sort this out and soon.. aid makes it to haiti, but not onto streetsaid is reaching earthquake-torn haiti, but getting it to the people who need it remains a challenge.. large quantities of medications, baby formula and other relief supplies are sitting on the tarmac and in warehouses at the port-au-prince airport, but no one is moving it out, according to cnn chief medical correspondent sanjay gupta.. "it's like everywhere we go, just walking through the airport, outside the airport even, people are saying, 'we need supplies,' " gupta said.. gupta found pallets of formula, pain medication and antibiotics standing unattended next to the runway.. u.s. military personnel in a warehouse tent at the airport gave gupta a trash bag full of supplies to take back to a hospital he had visited earlier but couldn't explain why there seemed to be no organized system for distribution.. "there is stuff here waiting to be taken out, that's a true statement," said air force col. ben mcmullen, deputy commander of the joint special operations air component.

  i realize whether you believe in god or the non-existence of god it has to be taken on faith since both positions are unknowable and unprovable.

  however, i can understand faith in god as basically a hope for something better.

  i can also understand agnosticism; admitting it's unknowable but still leaving the door open (perhaps the only intellectually honest option).

  the thing that sucks is that they are very much alive & we are literally less than five miles apart from each other everyday.

  i had a long talk with one of my siblings today.

  i've been getting a really weird vibe lately...today it was confirmed that i will be shunned from here on out from them.

  MIL comment irritates me...

  as some may know, my family and i no longer associate with jws - we are neither df'd nor da'd.

  we last attended about 4 years ago (seems longer...) anyway, my wife has lunch occasionally with her folks - i never get invited and rarely associate with the in laws - my fil says i have destroyed his family... so tensions are somewhat high and it's quite uncomforable whenever we are in the same room - always nice/pleasant, but very shallow relationship now.. my in-laws attended the international convention in trinidad a couple of weeks ago and while having lunch with my wife last week, my mil made the comment to her that "if we had only attended one of these international conventions, we would never had stopped attending meetings... we would have seen the unity and love among the brothers... etc...".

  this really irritates me... we were 38 and 39 years old when we stopped attending - both of us had been pioneers, me an elder... we were deep in the org... and my mil thinks that going to an international convention was the missing element in our spiritual lives?

  I posted this on another thread, so sorry for the duplicity, but I thought it may be fitting in light of the subject. A friend of mine sent me this the other day;

  In light of the murders at Ft. Hood by a Muslim Officer (who had sworn to defend the people, our Constitution and the United States ) this article becomes more timely and real than ever;
  
  Can a good Muslim be a good American?
  
  I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
  The following is his reply:
  
  Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of
  Arabia .
  
  Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah
  except Islam.
  
  Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of
  Islam and the Quran (Koran).
  
  Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he
  turns in prayer five times a day.
  
  Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make
  friends with Christians or Jews.
  
  Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual
  leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America,
  the great Satan.
  
  Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat
  and scourge his wife when she disobeys him.
  
  Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution
  since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be
  corrupt.
  
  Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not
  allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot
  co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
  
  Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the
  Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as
  heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's
  99 excellent names.
  
  Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very
  suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both
  "good" Muslims and good Americans.

  I Have a Theory - It Will Make The Society Tons of Cash

  i have long held theory that the society can easily cease it's printing operations and increase it's profit margins.

  follow this scenario.... as we all know, the printed word and accompanying illustrations in the wt and awake can be converted to pdf format (pdf is a format that can be locked so that the recipient cannot change the contents) upon the completion of each individual magazine.

  it would therefore be very easy for the society to email or to put up on a server the wt and awake for retrieval by the presiding overseer of each congregation.
